DISTRESSED DAILY: New York Opera says pension died bankrupt

the New York Opera is fighting to reopen its nine-year-old bankruptcy case to block a lawsuit filed by a pension fund for costume designers.

The Theatrical Wardrobe Union Local 764 pension claims the Opera owes it $192,000 related to payments due from 2014 to 2016, according to a filing in court last month. The union represents 1,400 costume designers and other wardrobe professionals in New York who work in virtually every stage show in the city as well as film and television production in the region.
