Post office prepares UK ISP customers for rising phone prices

The UK ISP division of the post office recently revealed that customers of their broadband and telephony plans are about to face a further price hike, which will be introduced from November 2, 2020. The biggest change is that the standard monthly price for home telephone line rental will jump 30.43% from £ 11.50 to £ 15.

All of La Poste’s annual price increases affect their telephone and call services, although these naturally also have an impact on the total price of their broadband plans. Obviously, this won’t affect the standard monthly price of their plans for existing customers on their fixed price plans, at least not until after their minimum term ends.

The supplier has also made some changes to its terms. First, they are “update our rights to suspend and cancel services in the unlikely event that network services are withdrawn by our providers“(Makes us wonder why now?) And, second, they include a cap on premium rate calls:”We can prevent customers from spending over £ 240 per month on premium calls and over £ 40 on a single premium call.. “

In a brief statement, the operator said: “You do not have to do anything, as these changes will automatically take effect on November 2, 2020. If you are not satisfied with these changes, you can leave without incurring an early termination fee, so if you wish to do so or if you would like to discuss your options, please contact us on 0345 373 0042 † within 30 days of receiving this notification. “

As usual, those affected by this might try to haggle for a better price (Retentions – Tips to Reduce Your Broadband Bill) or they may be able to leave. You can find a full list of their price increases below.
