Samsung foldable phone price: the next Samsung foldable phone could be cheaper than Apple’s iPhone 11 Pro

Samsung is the first brand to officially offer a foldable smartphone in stores with the launch of the Galaxy Fold. But the hefty $ 2,000 price tag and a delicate display make the Galaxy Fold a tough choice for buyers. However, that could all change with the launch of the next Samsung foldable phone. The company is reportedly offering a much lower price for its next foldable phone, at less than half the price of the Galaxy Fold.
According to a report by The herald of Korea, the tech giant‘s next foldable phone with a clamshell design could cost around 1 million won ($ 845) in the home country and is expected to hit markets in early 2020. That means the Samsung’s next foldable phone could be cheaper than Apple iPhone 11 Pro, which starts at $ 999.
A $ 845 Samsung foldable phone, being much more affordable, is expected to increase sales and could become the first successful foldable device without any hardware or software issues.
Speaking of foldable smartphones, Chinese smartphone maker Huawei unveiled its Mate X foldable phone this year. It has yet to hit Indian markets. In addition, LG’s foldable device is said to be in the works as well.
Meanwhile, Samsung is seriously considering mass-releasing smartphones with foldable screens. The company is said to be working on a cheaper variant of the Galaxy Fold that will launch globally. While the current Galaxy Fold will be available in some markets, the more affordable Galaxy Fold is reportedly available in more countries.
Samsung’s Galaxy Fold features a 7.3-inch QXGA + Dynamic AMOLED main display with a 4.2: 3 aspect ratio. There is 4.6 inch HD + Super AMOLED screen when you fold the phone. The cover screen comes with an aspect ratio of 21: 9.
The foldable phone is powered by a 64-bit 7nm octa-core processor with 12GB of RAM (LPDDR4x) and features 512GB UFS3.0 internal storage. It is devoid of any microSD card slot for additional storage. . The smartphone runs on the Android 9.0 Pie operating system and is backed by a 4380 mAh battery compatible with wired and wireless fast charging.
