The biggest remaining question with Samsung’s next foldable phone is exactly how much it will cost, with some estimates putting it above $ 2,000.
Now the Korean Times has come up with a price, according to a knowledgeable analyst, which, while still tearful, is actually more reasonable.
Analyst Kim Jang-yeol, head of research at Golden Bridge Investment, says the handset will cost around 2 million Korean won, or around $ 1,770.
For that price, of course, you’ll get a pretty unique device that combines a 7-inch phone and tablet.
Samsung said that the front screen of the dual-screen device is 4.58 inches, with a 21: 9 ratio, while the inner screen will have a 4.2: 3 ratio similar to other tablets. .
Samsung describes the front screen as “Normal” and describes the interior of the device as the “main” screen.
Flipboard will be one of the first to adopt the handset and will produce a special version of its app for the device that will offer more flaps when the handset is opened.
Samsung said it plans to ship at least one million units in the first half of 2019, and possibly more if the demand is there.
Although this is a two-in-one device, it seems likely that most of us would be better off waiting for the second generation. What do our readers think? Let us know below.
